Attorney Elizabeth Elwood has been practicing law since 1986. Her legal experience includes:

1986 to 1993: San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office

  • Deputy District Attorney (prosecutor)
  • Accomplished Trial Attorney: filed and tried over 73 diverse criminal jury trials of which 10 have been murder cases.
  • One of three assigned County Attorneys to the Narcotic Analysis Prosecution Offenders Supervision Unit, targeting mid-level narcotic violations. Filed all narcotic cases within the Victorville office.
  • Personally prepared legal briefs and presented oral arguments before the 4th District Court of Appeals.

1993 to 1995: Law Office in Truckee, California

  •  Associate Attorney. Practice included criminal defense, real estate, and personal injury

2019 to Present: Attorney - Traffic Infractions

  • Handles all traffic citations in the Shasta County Superior Court referred by the Off the Record App 
  • Liz is a 1986 Juris Doctor graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, CA

She is also a published writer of the following legal works:

  • People vs. Gapelu, (1989) 215 Cal App 3d 1006: The court held evidence presented was sufficient to establish the corpus of a vehicular manslaughter charge, so that the defendant driver’s admissions could be used against him.
  • People vs. Lanham, (1991) 230 Cal App 3d 1396: Settled jury instruction questions regarding knowledge of the defendant in a case involving possession of an exploding bullet.
